Korea, the "land of morning calm", is waiting for you.
IPhO is the most prestigious international physics competition for middle high school students representing each of their countries. IPhO was initiated in 1967 with the purpose of promoting the physics education for the secondary students (middle high school and high school students) in each participating country, motivating young talented students toward Physics and also providing atmosphere to cultivate friendship among the participants.
The 35th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO-2004) will take place during July 15-23 2004, at Pohang, Korea. Representatives from more than 70 countries from all over the world are expected to take part in this competition. IPhO 2004 will be an opportunity to show your ability and creativeness in physics, and also will be a festival for a select group of elite students. Thus the participation in IPhO-2004 competition alone is something that you should be very proud of.
The site of competition is the campus of Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), a reputed university in Korea with a pleasant and serene environment. The near-by city of Gyeongju, the ancient capital city of the 1,000 year-old Shilla dynasty, is one of the most attractive tourist sites in Korea, where you will be able to experience the rich Korean cultural heritage first-hand.
Come and show your prowess on Physics with pride. I am sure you can go back with rich memories, vitality and serenity of the dynamic Korea.
